Humanities 110 - Event Branding

Brief:
The Humanities Faculty at the University of Pretoria (South Africa) needed a celebratory emblem to celebrate their 110th anniversary. The faculty is the oldest, largest and of the most established faculties in Southern Africa. In celebrating humanities, we can celebrate a diverse range of aspects and achievements. Diversity therefore, is key. Humanities, in a very broad sense, focuses on ‘people’ and their communities.

I also had to ensure that the identity aligns with both UP and Humanities’ vision: affirmation, resolution and reflection. At the time of the project, humanities had no real visual identity. Therefore, the faculty was also looking for this to tie into an identity that they faculty can use going forward. The event branding therefore had to be something that might work beyond the anniversary.
